Unlike 90% of other web host out there, we own our datacenter. We are NOT
resellers, and we are NOT colocated.
Why should you care? - Our business is completely dependent on
our customers' satisfaction of our services, and we don't want to be at the mercy
of 3rd party technicians at some remote server farm, who may have other priorities,
when our reputation is on the line. We have full access to our secure datacenter
24/7/365, and can make needed repairs and handle routine maintenance as needed to
provide the best experience for our customers.
Due to our excellent location, our datacenter is fed by two separate power grids.
In the unlikely event of a complete power failure, we have all servers and vital
equipment connected to uninterruptible power supplies and an on-site diesel generator
that switches on automatically in the event of power failure.
Our direct fiber connection to our provider's (TimeWarner) switch gives us a 1 Gbps
backbone to the SONET ring.
This, coupled with no intermediate hardware prone to failure, allows us to put our
reputation on the line with tremendous confidence.
We have
redundant air-conditioning and humidity control systems which maintain a
constant 68-70 degrees Fahrenheit (20 C) environment.
We have on site security staff, video cameras covering the entrances, and only allow
our own staff into our datacenter. There is no public access to our facility, and
we do not offer tours or rent space for colocation. On the rare occasion that we
need to allow another party into our datacenter, (ie: service provider) they
must be escorted by a member of the Aquest staff.
